Baby
Food Ukraine examines the trends in the baby food market for 2007-2013, with
forecasts to 2019. It examines how live birth rates, breastfeeding trends, the
economic crisis, new product and packaging developments, changing attitudes and
safety concerns have affected the market for baby milks, cereals, meals, drinks
and finger foods.
Key Findings
With
the lowest GDP per capita, Ukraine is the poorest country in Eastern Europe and
has the smallest market in the region in per capita terms at 37.4kgs in 2011.
Demand for baby meals and drinks are seeing the strongest growth, albeit from a
low base and in 2011 became the largest sector, overtaking infant formula.
Economic improvements are expected to raise consumer spending power, this
serving to boost baby food sales which are expected to rise by 78.6% to 33,515
tonnes by 2017.
